Hello

I’m Erin Oliver, Library Media Specialist at Alvin Brooks Middle School.

The Library and Innovation Center is where students read, wonder, build, question, and try again. Some days that means helping a student find a book they can’t stop talking about. Other days it means supporting research, troubleshooting technology, or watching a group of students test an idea and rethink it in the makerspace.

Student learning drives the work of our school, and the library works alongside classrooms to support that effort. I collaborate closely with teachers and in step with administrators to design learning experiences that strengthen literacy, research skills, critical thinking, and communication across content areas.

I believe a library should feel welcoming, purposeful, and responsive to the people who use it every day. Whether students are building confidence as readers, learning to navigate information responsibly, or creating something new, my role stays the same: support student growth and be a reliable instructional partner for teachers.
